Lisbon 2022
4 Days in Lisbon – A Romantic Escape Wrapped in Pictorial Charm
In March 2022, I had the chance to explore Lisbon with my partner during a four-day stay filled with sunshine, cobblestones, and the warm colors of the city.
We wandered through the winding alleys of Alfama — a timeless neighborhood steeped in tradition — where blue azulejos line the walls, laundry flutters from balconies, and distant strains of fado echo through the streets.
The legendary tram 28, creaky and iconic, carried us up and down the city’s hills through Graça, Baixa, and the charming Bairro Alto. Every neighborhood had its own personality: the classic elegance of Belém, the buzz of Chiado, the bohemian feel of Cais do Sodré.
As we explored the city, we took in some of its most iconic landmarks: the majestic Belém Tower, the Jerónimos Monastery, and São Jorge Castle perched high above the city, offering breathtaking views over the Tagus River.
Lisbon’s atmosphere is truly unique — peaceful yet vibrant — as if time flows differently there.
We let ourselves be carried by its rhythm, moving from shaded plazas to miradouros with stunning views, and pausing often to enjoy warm, crispy pastéis de nata.
The local cuisine won us over completely — grilled fish, endless variations of bacalhau, and regional wines savored on sunny terraces.
This trip to Lisbon was more than a getaway — it was a shared moment suspended between sky and sea, between lively streets and quiet pauses.
Each sunset over ochre rooftops, every laugh shared over a traditional dish, turned the experience into something precious.
Lisbon will remain in our hearts as the city where love was celebrated in the golden light of spring — a vibrant memory we carry with us.
