New York as a Family – Between Wonder and Emotion

In November 2023, we set off to discover New York as a family. On our very first days, we took the ferry to Liberty Island to see the iconic Statue of Liberty up close. Then on to Ellis Island, where we were deeply moved by the stories of millions of immigrants who once came here seeking a better life. It was a powerful moment — both educational and emotional.

Later, we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, soaking in the view of Manhattan beneath the autumn sky, caught between city noise and quiet awe.

Brooklyn – A Life-Size Playground

We spent time wandering through Brooklyn’s peaceful streets, cozy cafés, and stunning viewpoints along the promenade.

But the highlight for my son was without a doubt basketball at Pier 2!

Dribbling, shooting, laughing together on that court with the Manhattan skyline in the background will forever be one of the most special moments of the trip.

A simple activity — yet full of meaning for both of us.

NBA Getaway in Philadelphia

To top it all off: a father-son day trip to Philadelphia to watch the 76ers take on the Raptors. The energy in the arena, the crowd’s excitement, the players giving it their all — it was a true American show.

This trip was much more than sightseeing. It was a time of connection, wonder, and sharing around our shared passion.
